Trekking is an exceptional form of vacation and certainly not suitable for everyone. However, anyone who dares to embark on the hiking adventure can be sure that he will take home many great impressions and experiences. The following tips should make it easier for beginners to start trekking.
The equipment should be as light as possible
Good planning is a crucial point in trekking. This applies above all to the equipment, because on the one hand you want to be prepared for all eventualities, on the other hand, the equipment must not be too heavy either. Of course, a good backpack is important. This should also sit perfectly with content, so it does not chafe the skin. Depending on the duration of the trip, it should have a certain size.
In addition, of course, also the sleep utensils play an important role. Tent, sleeping bag and sleeping pad are the basic equipment of every trekking hiker. It is advantageous to opt for lightweight models. The traveler should always keep in mind that he has to carry his equipment for many miles. Lay people often make the mistake of taking too much and despairing of the weight of their backpack. The hiking boots should be as breathable as possible but impermeable to water, the same applies to hiking clothes. Here, however, the region is crucial. In the tropics, for example, different clothing is needed than in arctic landscapes.
Furthermore, the following things should not be missing on a trekking tour:

Beginners should not overestimate themselves
If you have never been on a multi-day hike, you should not immediately go into the absolute wilderness, but rather choose a hiking route, where there is overnight accommodation on the way. This saves weight for the sleeping equipment. Before a multi-day trekking tour, it makes sense to practice hiking at home with a heavy backpack and also to spend the night in the tent – even in the rain. So both body and mind get used to the burdens that can come up. To find out if you are really born for trekking, a hiking holiday in your home country is perfect. For the first trekking routes abroad one should not dare to go too far from the climate zone you are used to. It should not have to be a tour through South America right away.
Every trip should be well planned
A trekking holiday is a strenuous endeavor. But it is also a holiday that should be fun. For this to succeed, extensive planning is essential.
